Location: York & Northallerton / Hybrid

The Finance Business Partner will play a leading role at the interface of finance and delivery teams, enabling and supporting shared financial objectives, information and insights between the teams and wider stakeholders promoting a collaborative and supportive approach to assessment, reporting and analysis.

You will ensure continuous improvement and benchmark performance against local and national expectations. As a trusted advisor, the role will utilise strategic thinking, adaptability and flexibility of approach to lead and support within the technical/specialist area to maximise commercial, partnership and enabling opportunities to lead and establish a culture of excellence. You will ensure the provision of effective services in line with YNYCA’s policies and procedures.

What you will bring:

• A relevant degree and a recognised (CCAB or equivalent) accounting qualification
• Strong experience of Finance Business Partnering
• A collaborative and empathetic approach to supporting service users
• Familiarity with financial regulations and governance frameworks applicable to local government.
• Experience working in a combined authority or similar public sector organisation.
• Wider stakeholder management skills
• A track record of delivering continuous improvements in processes, systems and reporting
