The London Port Health Authority (LPHA) is integral to the work of the City of London Corporati on. Covering 94 miles of the River Thames, we are one of the largest authorities of its kind in the EU, and we’re tasked with all port health matters including food and feed imports, infectious disease control, shellfish sampling, ship sanitati on and a wide variety of public and animal health controls. Leading a high-performing team, we’ll look to you to lead, develop and manage the services of the LPHA. With a focus on the major ports of London Gateway and Tilbury, as well as the Launch Service, you’ll see to it that our resources are being used as efficiently and effectively as possible, and you’ll ensure we’re meeting local, national and international priorities.
This is an excitig ng opportunity to play a key role in shaping and delivering a wide ranging regulatory agenda, from implementing ng relevant legislation on and authorising enforcement actions, through to handling the impacts of the UK’s closer relationship with the EU. We are therefore seeking a proactive and adaptable professional who thrives on challenge and enjoys building strong, eff ectiverelationships with stakeholders at all levels. Ideally you should have experience in the regulatory sectors and an understanding of Port Health and imported food controls would be helpful.
